I didn't know Jeff very well, met him a few times, but I knew his father (Jim Reilly) very well. He is just a couple of years younger than I am.?ÿ

My condolences to his family.

From APSG:

On behalf of the THSOA Committee it is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our Dear Friend and Colleague, Jeff Reilly.?ÿ

?ÿ

Jeffrey Christopher Reilly was born in Passaic, New Jersey on July 14, 1961 to James and Faith Reilly. Jeff passed away unexpectedly on May 15, 2018 at the age of 56 while on a survey project in Luanda, Angola.

?ÿ

Jeff is survived by his wife, Susan Reilly, and daughters, Shannon and Clare Reilly of Cypress, Texas; his father, James Reilly of Las Cruces, New Mexico; his brothers, Mike Reilly of Beltsville, Maryland and Sean Reilly of Stafford, Texas; his sister-in-law, Mylac Reilly; and his two nephews Liam and Keven Reilly and niece Erin Reilly of Cypress, TX. He is preceded in death by his mother, Faith Reilly and brother, James Reilly Jr.

?ÿ

Jeff graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and from the University of Florida in 1993 with a Master of Science in Geomatics. After college, Jeff moved to Houston, Texas where he met his wife and raised his family. He was an employee with NCS International, Racal NCS, and Thales Geosolutions. In 2002, he entered the contracting world, which led to the origin of Reilly Geomatics, Inc. and eventually a partnership in 2004 with Ben Couturier creating Houston Petroleum Surveyors Group, LLC (HPSG), a personnel and services company in the oil and gas industry. In 2016, HPSG merged with Offshore Analysis & Research Solutions (OARS), where Jeff remained as a Director and Survey Specialist.

Jeff was also an avid homebrewer and member of the Foam Ranger Homebrew Club. He won many awards for his beers and meads over the past two decades.

?ÿ

Information regarding Memorial services for Jeff will be forthcoming.

Wow, I knew Jeff when he was pursuing?ÿhis masters degree at the University of Florida, he was friends with a guy from the surveying program that interned at our company. Since we were all about the same age we all hung out together and even attended a big surveying convention/trade show in Orlando where I met Jeff's dad Jim (at the time a principle at Dudley, Reilly and Associates). My condolences to his family, Jeff was an outstanding individual.
