Berny, ex chief of cadastral survey in BLM headquarters, passed away on Dec. 6 at his home.

I never met Mr. Hostrop in person, but spoke to him on the phone several times. His signature is on both of my U.S. Mineral Surveyor appointments.

Berny was the new Chief, Division of Cadastral Survey, W. O. BLM and hired me in 1974.
Obviously, we had many memorable times together until the early 90's when retirement came around.
Rest in Peace, Berny!

Berny, ex chief of cadastral survey in BLM headquarters, passed away on Dec. 6 at his home.
Seen many survey & resurvey plats signed by him from the time when they were all issued out of Washington. If I remember right, he was a Wyomingite.
