My Dad died at age 81, one month shy of 82 🙁

I am still thinking of things I wished I had asked him. About 2 weeks before he died my big sister set me up to spend an afternoon with him, sort of a babysitter while she did some stuff. He said a couple of times he said I could take off, didn't need to stay. I was afraid she would get mad at me if I left; I'm sure glad she did that.

Also starred in a very good TV drama series in the mid 60's Run For Your Life. The premise was that he only had a year or two to live, so spent the rest of his time doing adventurous and meaningful things.

Run For Your Life

Come to think of it, don't we all have a limited time...

Back in 1990 or so, there was a revival of "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof" on Broadway, starring Kathlen Turner as Maggie, Charles Durning as Big Daddy and a young man named Daniel Hugh Kelly (most recently seen on a TV show called "Memphis Beat")as Brick.

Just before the lights went down, I turned around and sitting right behind me was Ben Gazzara, who originated the role of Brick in the original production back in 1955.

Although he clapped along with the rest of the audience at the end of the play, I always wondered what he REALLY thought watching that performance.
