Do not underestimate the damage a drone can do to your body. It is a knife-wielding switchblade 20,000 rpm dangerous weapon. The most likely time to get cut by a drone is at startup. If the gyros are messed up, it can tilt and fly almost horizontal without directional guidance, and can hit you in legs or head within a half second. And to turn it off takes two hands on the controller to fracture them. So if it is gashing you, the only way to stop it is to hold it away with one hand if you can, and touch the blades with the controller. I had to do this once with a 20-pound drone with 8 blades. I see people standing right beside them starting them, and I cringe. I suggest staying back at least 20 feet, probably 50. I say that from experience, and if anything, this is an understatement. I would not let anyone within 50 feet of it while starting and taking off.

A bolt or a nut coming detatched from a drone at 200 feet can exceed 80 miles per hour in its fall. Deadly.

An out-of-control drone can cause a car crash.

Drones, even the most modern ones, are not nearly as reliable as one might think. Every responsible experienced drone pilot is probably thinking "crash" every time he starts one up.

My $0.02 worth of suggestions...be safe. You WILL crash.

Anyone who tangles with gators at work (see Frank's avatar) probably knows a few things about safety. ;);)

I just did a brief presentation on Survey Tech trends. It included a few lines from a fake farmers insurance commercial. The punchline was 'seen it, didnt cover it'.
Thanks for the reminder...
