Tools: C3D 2014, Carlson (no GIS module), Sketchup, GIMP and who knows what other tools I can dig up.
Unfortunately I need to get some measurements off some obliques. Oblique aerials and ground level photos. I have been researching and I figure this forum may shake loose an idea or two...
1. Rubbersheet.
a. Rubbersheet the vector to the raster, digitize then rubbersheet back.
b. Rubbersheet the raster to the vector.
2. DVIEW.
a. Can I get the perspective to work?
3. Orbit.
a. Should I just try to eyeball in the work? There was some GISsy thread about making the image a background and muddling about with the orbit.
4. Counter Oblique
a. Could I take a picture of the picture at an location counter to the relative location of the oblique to reduce or eliminate the relative distortion? I have a camera boom for reproducing images. I would have to rough things in I think, but I could locate the camera based on a relative geometry (IE if I know the distance between three object, I could create a relative comparison)
I am looking before I leap... so any thoughts or ideas would be useful. If I could have the imagery reflown in ortho I would. I had boots on the ground last week and the tides have washed away the evidence.
If it's flat terrain, I can help. You will need four points that preferably surround your area of interest that are in the same plane. E-mail me direct at cjmce@LSU.edu.
