kudos to the CA surveyors who squelched one unlicensed scoundrel. From his website it looks like he still operates in the remaining 49. Take a look at what I would call paragraph 9:

Best of luck.

Thats some pretty ridiculous stuff. We have some scallywags out my way as well. Not that bad though they actually stop at a property before going to the bar.

How does one use GPS to perform a parcel survey anyway? We use lat and long for for tidelands claims but i have not seen any tax parcel maps with any coordinates on them in New Jersey.

I have found parcel map information for arcGIS for our area however they are nowhere near on the ground measurements. At best I have found them 15 feet off. The other day we got a tidelands claim for a more rural area and the property line is off by more than 100 feet!

Do I just live in the stone age?

--My apologies if this is an incredibly stupid question or simply. I have not gone to school for this yet. Is this just a metes and bounds vs cadastral survey ignorance on my part?

Also nice job on stopping a huckster 😉

To give that guy a little bit of credit, that is the same guy that created gmap4, which, while there is better stuff out there now, was a pretty incredible tool for surveyors, particularly for rough estimates or project planning. (Essentially Google maps with topo and coordinate entry)
