Saw a drone last night.
I was at a HS soccer game about 30 miles west of here.
I was walking along the track when I heard a buzzing like bee. Looked up and there it was...pretty high up...few hundred ft at least. It was strange that nobody but me noticed it hovering.
I pointed up and asked two HS kids if they knew who was looking at us with the drone. They were real surprised. They thought it was a classmate who lived about a mile away in a S/D. They said that he could control it from his house. When the battery got low, it knew to fly back to base.
Sure enough after a few minutes of hovering it flew off in a hurry.
Pretty cool.
I'm surprised that a lot of surveyors didn't find a drone hovering over their Christmas tree this year.
Isn't it nice that people using them for good use have to operate within the line of sight but booger pickers fly them until the battery turns them around?
Creepy.
