A colleague was closing up his shop and asked me if I wanted to haul away any of the stuff he was getting rid of. One of the items is a chunk of cast iron with a purpose that is not clear to me. Does anyone here know what it's for?

I think that's it! The hole is tapered, as is the shank shown in the Hilti photos. And now that I know what it's for, I think it's probably forged steel rather than cast iron.

That looks useful. I wonder if you can get one for an SDS-plus chuck?
