Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes were playing a late show at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland on Thursday, August 31, 1978; the same night Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band were booked at the Richfield Coliseum.

After their show Bruce, Steve, Clarence, and a few other E Streeters went to the Agora played with the Jukes for three songs: The Fever, I Don’t Wanna Go Home, and Havin’ A Party.

Saw South Side Johnny et al at a New Years Eve show at the Capitol Theater, Passaic, NJ a few years later. A very good show.

It is amusing to see Little Steven so young, without that wig from the Sopranos....

I saw Johnny about six weeks ago at the Bergen Arts Center.....he put on a fantastic show.

Visually, it's a bit like watching George C. Scott, but vocally, he's as good as ever, and the horns really hit all the notes.

He's playing BB King's in Times Square in early December.....I'm gonna try to see him again.

(For the hard-core, New Year's Eve at the Count Basie Theater in Red Bank, NJ.)
