Aloha,
Just in the past couple weeks my DC alerts me that my S6 total station is overdue for service by an authorized Trimble dealer.
This apparently $1200 service! I probably use it on average 5 hours a week. Take good care of it and handle it very carefully. All my work at this point is topographical only. I don't think I'll do any high accuracy survey ever...:-)
Questions:
1. Must I do this recommended service?

2. Are there any consequences if I push it...let say for two years...(and put up with alert every time I setup)

Thank you for any thoughts anyone might have! Aloha

Aloha Yswami -

That message is the equivalent of a "dummy light" in a car... the only negative ramification to not having the service performed is having to put up with that message every time you use it.

I hope someone posts a way to pull the fuse on that dummy light!
