The main thing I know about toises is that they wouldn't be still; different lengths in different countries and different lengths in the same country during different times. The French ones, I think, were somewhat less than two meters, but meters didn't stay still either. 

39/1000 of an olympic swimming pool might be a decent approximation.

I was told there was a button in your butt that helps you remember.

When you get up to go into , say, the kitchen and can't remember why you went there once you got there, you back and sit down and then you remember.
