My wife has a cat (yeah I know) and well I like to torment the little shit. It is a Russian Blue and it is a fine example of a cat. But I like to torment it, little things just to amuse myself.

Well it likes to sit in the window sill and look out at the silly humans. So as its sitting in the sill I like to flick the curtains and it swats at me and I flick the curtains and it swats at me, it amuses me, what can I say.

But this morning she was a little faster and aggressive with her swats and she sunk a claw into the first joint on my ring finger (the sensitive underside) and god lord she wouldnƒ??t retract those darned claws.

She was squalling, I was hollering, the curtains were all tangled up and I was whacking the heck out of her in an effort to get the spike out from my joint. So as a result of my constant picking on the cat I woke my wife, I tore down the curtains, I beat the cat to get the claw out of my finger joint, I bled on the curtain and I had to use a small pair of gunsmithing needle nose pliers to get a cat claw out of my knuckle.

And you know what, I will probably do the same thing tomorrowƒ??.without the bleeding part, and the pliers and the tearing the curtains down and the waking the wife...................?ÿI hope.

They make nail clippers for pets where you can snip of the razor sharp tips without hurting her.?ÿ Then both of you can play without you needing medical intervention.

Mom had a cat. It would wake up about 2am and want to play, stomping through the house looking for something to bat about.?ÿAt 2:01 she would come in to my room, dive in to the covers, and look for my toes playfully?ÿto chew on.

As a kid, that was kinda fun, but by my teen years I was annoyed.?ÿ So, I loaded up my 'disc gun'.?ÿ Yup, one of those great toys from the 60s and 70s where you actually might put your brothers eye out if he'd just hold still long enough to get?ÿa good shot.?ÿ

Sure enough, one of the next nights the critter is at the foot of my bed. Her?ÿears are?ÿback, tail?ÿwhipping, and she's probably happy I woke up until put the first disc right on her nose. She high-tailed it out of there never to wake me up again.

I do not have the courage to try holding a cat and trimming its nails. Nope, not gonna do it.

@Just A. Surveyor

Cutting their claws is easy.?ÿ It's giving a cat a bath without first clipping its claws that can be life altering.?ÿ

"and well I like to torment the little shit"

For a time we had a little black cat that my wife brought home after someone dumped it off when it was only a couple weeks old. We bottle fed it and it loved me and my wife, but it must have been brain damaged from being starved at a young age or something... it was territorial, protective, and possessive, and it literally attacked a couple of male house guests.?ÿAt some point it decided it liked to go outside; not long after that we never saw it again. Knowing that cat it probably picked a fight with the wrong critter.

The Russian Blue has a reputation as a gentle, quiet cat, somewhat shy, but donƒ??t get the wrong idea. This cat may have a reserved nature, but he loves to play (being especially fond of retrieving) and enjoys jumping or climbing to high places where he can study people and situations at his leisure before making up his mind about whether he wants to get involved. Guests will not receive his immediate attention and may never see him unless he decides they are worthy of his notice, but toward family members, especially his favored person, he is ever loyal, following them through the house and even riding on a shoulder. The Russian Blue is a sensitive cat who doesnƒ??t like to be ignored and will be hurt if he doesnƒ??t receive the same amount of affection he gives. Lack of attention can cause him to become anxious or fearful. While the Russian Blue loves your company, he is capable of entertaining himself during the day while you are at work. Unlike some active, intelligent breeds, he is not destructive but moves through the house with the lithe grace of a Russian ballerina. When you are at home, his subtle sense of humor and manual dexterity will never fail to entertain. Just make sure you laugh with him, not at him. He has a strong sense of self-worth and doesnƒ??t like being made fun of. This is a cat who does best in a quiet, stable environment. He doesnƒ??t like change, and itƒ??s especially important to him that meals arrive on time. Count on him to be a faithful alarm clock in the morning, not so you donƒ??t miss work but so he doesnƒ??t miss a meal. If you take the time to develop a relationship with a Russian Blue, your reward will be a deep bond with this loving cat.

This is the beast that tried to tear my arm off. Like I said she is a fine example of a cat but incredibly ferocious.?ÿ
