I pass MetLife Stadium twice every day as NJTPK toll plaza 16W is my entrance to the turnpike getting to and from work. It has been illuninated, including the parking lot, all day and night for the last week.
This morning as I got to the tool plaza a caravan of NJSP and what were obviously scanners for vehilces heading toward the stadium.
I am not looking forward to how this event will make life difficult this weekend.
So yesterday I read that the NFL is spending $10 million on security. NY and NJ are spending loads of money on security by State Police and local assistance. Well guess who is paying for that security? The local schmuck taxpayers are footing the bill. So that billionaires and the NFL can make more money.
What a sham!
The NJSP stated they did not have a projected budget yet. NJ Transit is stating $17 million for the event. Again on the taxpaers backs.
And yet the NFL has tried to suppress any local non stadium activities and witheld the use of the "NFL" and "Super Bowl" terms by anyone not licensed by the NFL.
But where is the outrage over the influx to the local economy?:-S
Maybe the Guv's cronies can close a lane or two.:-P
