Now that's just silly, why didn't he just have someone in his family drive the car to the locksmith? Or maybe if no one could drive they could have rolled down one of the windows and he could have crawled in and driven it to a locksmith.

If that wasn't such a true story about my ex-sister in-law, it would be funny. She went out to nap in the car, and locked the doors. A while later hubby went looking for her and she was banging on the windows - from the inside - screaming for him to unlock the damn door. Yes, she is polish. Yes, she was also very inebriated. I don't know if those two things matter, but it was still hilareous.
