everyday for the past 2 weeks except for 2 really nice days that were only 105-110, went for a walk those days. It's also nice to walk in the early evening when it's only ~100.
So if anyone needs some warmth, I know some sand dune type property that is probably available cheap.
My son, who worked in Antarctica for 8 years, and I agree that we could probably never live in the same area...B-)

WALK? Like as in a leisurely stroll? Good grief don't you have to worry about getting shot or IED'S? For Cripes sake be careful we need all the surveyors we can get these days. B-)

You are one tough individual to be able to handle such temperatures. It's not like you are out lounging around the pool all day sipping maitais. Surveying, of any variety, becomes brutal at either extreme of the thermometer.

Yes, leisurely stroll...lol. I gave up trying to convince people I am in less dangerous than anyone who drives everyday. It's not the danger; it's being away from family, friends, and my profession that is HARD! It's at least cooler here than it was in Iraq and I had to survey a lot more outdoors there. Here, most of the tasks have ended and I'm here (in the AC) for contingency; that's why they've cut the position and I'm looking for new challenges.
A question on some game show: what has a higher risk - a military tour in Afghanistan or child birth?

child birth is 20 times riskier according to the program!
