@FL/GA PLS. : i'm assuming (hoping) you have nothing to do with either of these firms, and that you might know of some apopkan or bithlovian who'd be amenable to going and paying a visit to a couple "surveyors" in the area. one's downtown, one's out in longwood, and they're both apparently doing quite well right now- as evidenced by the fact that i've seen about a dozen surveys by the two of them in the last few days. and i'm confident enough at this point to say neither has any business surveying outside the state of florida (y'all can decide down there if they can do any work within the state lines).
i'm not confident our state board has the teeth- or a long enough leash- to effectively do anything about these craigslist-crew type companies, but i'm starting to consider taking on a new personal mission and find out.
that is, unless you could call your cousin in mims and get this handled in a more expedient manner. 😉
Post the plats. We curious...
well, that's the thing, nate: there's nothing egregious or blatant on them (well, except for the leaders that are at like a 200 ltscale when the drawing is at 30...)- it's when you start unwrapping what the surveyor chose to (not) do- like proper boundary analysis, or any plausible explanation of issues, or any visible attempt to address or resolve said issues. the one i'm currently trying to make sense of- or, i should say: i know what's going on, and so does the guy sitting in longwood, florida. his business model, though (which involves doing an ALTA 1500 miles from home, way out in the north of nowhere, in a state with an entirely different set of chess pieces... ostensibly for cheaper than any local surveyor could do it) apparently prevents him from writing a report or a new metes and bounds that would help to move the situation to a more tenable position for everyone involved. seriously, this is the fifth one this week. interestingly enough the other orlando firm has been sending us surveys signed by a guy in fayetteville. his work actually isn't that bad, but it's still not that good either. you looking for some extra change by chance? own a ski mask and a crow bar?

I hope we don't come across these same knuckleheads any time soon. Sounds like they're causing plenty of headaches. Good on you for trying to make it right and not just turning your head. Keep on, keepin' on!

As Bob Dylan said, "It ain't me babe".
I'm registered in Florida and Georgia only. Besides, I won't touch ALTA or "mortgage/lot" surveys. I only survey for production builders in the Central Florida area.
I know of one "firm" in the area which fits your question.
Email me and I'll send you the link. They are in Winter Park, FL, not sure about the Longwood one. 😎
In another life, maybe..........
Got my own cross to bear these days taking on the so called "parent company's preferences" and their "interpretation of their State Board rules" when their agendas are being forced my way.
Today's conflict was another Title Company not wanting to put my bank account name on the PayToTheOrderOf line.
Turns out that they had me in their system since they opened their doors in some 4 different styles and only one of them was correct............
good luck
