There are probably videos like this for every state, but this is my Virginia:

Virginia is definitely a beautiful state. Of course, my two granddaughters in Lynchburg would be enough for me to make that statement.

Lovely. Some of my ancestors lived in Virginia for over 100 years. Then, without moving, they lived in West Virginia.

I worked a month in Virginia one week. But it only took us three days. 🙂

We were in a valley East of Tazwell Virginia called Burkes Garden. It was actually more of a bowl. M D Hanes of Hanes Underwear owned most of the valley. It was a beautiful area.

I have seen that while flying my plane. It is indeed a beautiful location and quite intriguing geologically.

America the beautiful

Quite a bit of crossover with the imagery, but here's to America:

The drainage features are fascinating. It almost looks like that used to be a large lake until the outlet eroded down to the lake bottom. You see a similar feature in the adjacent valley. Am I seeing this correctly?

I think you've got it about right. I looked at it on a topo one time and there is only one outlet that I noticed. However, because the entire drainage area would essentially be the surface it is unlikely it would fill up because there wouldn't be enough water. Unless there were some really large springs.

The oval, bowl-like valley (or "cove") is known for its fertile land and was once the bed of an ancient sea. About 8.5 miles long and 4 miles wide, it resembles a large volcanic crater in satellite photographs and on topographic maps; however, it was formed when underground limestone caverns collapsed. The valley is the highest in Virginia[citation needed] at around 3,000 feet above sea level and is completely surrounded by Clinch Mountain.

My son was born there.
I generally live in a state of confusion :-S
edit:he was born in VA, not the undiewear bowl.
Me and his mother lived there, too.
She needed to be near him at his birth.
I spectated.

That's the one. There were two ways in or out. The main road being thru the narrow channel where the water runs out as noted above and the other being over the mountain to the south (foreground in the picture).

I was there in 1980 running a seismograph line. The locals then said they usually got snowed in about 2 weeks out of the year. When needed, someone would airdrop supplies to them.

I haven't seen much more of Virginia other than the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Parkway, but that was pretty.B-)

I often make a similar remark about Quartzite, AZ. B-)

I say: I spent a month there one week and I was only there 3 days.

When I was there the temps were 125°+ for highs and the temp didn't drop below 100° until after midnight.
