Angel,
I got that phone call several years ago. I pray that your mourning will come in time to have its consolations. Mooshe joins me in wishing blessings on your father, and on you and Wendell.
Henry
Oh Angel, what a time of it you are having 🙁
I am so sorry for your loss(es).
Thank you guys... I come here and read your replies and start bawling. It's ok, it's a good cry. :innocent:
The last few days have been ...well... hard. 🙁 I was already a wreck from last week when I had to take my kitty in. Then this...Damn!!! 🙁
Losing both parents within 18 months of each other is by far the biggest blow I have had to experience since... Ever. :sob:
I will be headed home soon to clean up all of the loose ends that need to be cleaned up after a loved one dies, and I will finally put my mom into the ground next to her brothers and sisters. Some of Dads ashes will go in with my Mom. That is what they wanted. This will be my first time going home and both of my parents are not there to greet me, feed me, etc...:broken_heart:
Small story here...
When I was taking care of my next-door neighbor for a week who was dying of pancreatic cancer, there was a night when she "Woke Up." She started talking to her husband and I, telling us some interesting stuff! She told us, "They're coming soon." I asked her whose coming? She went silent. About five minutes later, she says "They're here." Her husband and I kinda brushed it off, and he said "Oh, it's probably a few Angels visiting her." She quickly blurted back to him, "No, not a few. Three of Four!" We were blown away! So then I asked her if they were here, right now??? She said "Yes, they're right here!" I said where?? She puts her hand up, and points to the corner of the room and says "Right over there." I am just dumbfounded and then I tell them HEY I wanna see you guys too, and then I sort of tease them for not "showing themselves" to us as well, and told them I was going to toss flour on them so I could outline their shadows. We joked about that for a bit, laughing about me not being in "their union" yet and not my time to see them yet, even though my name is Angel. Then she went silent.
About 5 minutes later, she tells us "Her ride is coming." I said your ride is coming???? She said "Yes, my ride is coming." Another 5 minutes goes by and she says, "MY ride is here!" I said YOUR RIDE IS HERE? RIGHT NOW?! Where?! She pointed to the same place she pointed to last time and said, "Over there." I asked her if she was going to go with them??? She said "No, not yet. I'm not ready yet." I have to admit I was kind of relieved that she didn't go with them yet! Well, after all of this, her husband is a bit overwhelmed and in tears so he steps out of the room to regroup. After he left, she turns to me and says "Angel, your dad is here." I thought that was kind of odd, and then I thought OK, maybe her dad was there, or it was God that was there, or some kinda dad figure of hers. So I told her, "Oh, Your dads here! How nice! Tell him hello!" She quickly says, "No not my dad. YOUR dad Angel. Your dad is here!" I said "Oh, ok..." and kind of just sat there, wondering why my dad would be there of all times?! He was at home dying of liver cancer!
Tuesday, my neighbors husband, sister and I were talking about this and it all sunk in...
I kept a log book of all of this stuff and went and looked back at the dates...
That date that my dying friend was telling us all of this, was the same date that my dad died.
Very sorry for your loss Angel. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Wendell.

My dad is gone...he has joined my momma. That is what he wanted. We're devastated, but relieved that he is no longer in pain or suffering. I had to call Wendell at the office, and all I could say was "Dads dead. Please come home." Before I lost it. I have lost both my parents in less than 18 months!! :sob:
Please bear with me...I owe you guys some stuff out there and I was just about to finish all that up and I got slammed with this. When I re-group I will get it out to you. :innocent:
