Our preference in the Lopresti household is bi-color with yellow second.
Bi-color is our favorite too. We used to have the "Zellwood Corn Festival" here every year. They had all 3 kinds which sold for $8 a crate. But, as development in Central FL is spreading like wildfire, the land became too valuable for agriculture and was sold to developers.?ÿ
Produce season is one of my favorite times of the year, fresh veggies and cornbread.
Funny time of year for that, seeing as it's not in season until August. Not around here, anyway.?ÿ
That is why retailers and distributors want to keep the origin of foods a secret to the consumer. It is growing season somewhere all year long and in some lower latitudes, it is all year long.
Thanks for posting, I had some corn that I had bought recently in the fridge that I had forgot about, just fixed it for lunch.?ÿ I just put it in the microwave with the husk on for about 3 and a half minutes per ear.

We were down to Lancaster yesterday and saw some sweet corn in tassel. From tassel to corn cob is some time away.
Did get some corn meal mush but did not care for the available sausages, making a trek in a different direction today. Also loaded up on local strawberries and asparagus, earliest favorite garden foods. I grew up picking potatoes on my uncle's farm, strawberries on a neighbor's and every wild berry on my grandmother's farm. She let me ride around standing on the drawbar of her Model T tractor conversion.
Our favorite Italian Cheese place is still closed and are looking for some fresh string cheese. Still have some scrapple in the fridge, thawed out last pack last week. My father was Italian but my mom and wife's mother were primarily Pennsylvania Dutch. My wife's father was Welsh/Cornish, so we have a taste for a variety of ethnic foods. Pastie pies and pig's stomach are standouts.
