Thanks for sharing. The term "Made in America" was said with pride and reverence!

FYI?ÿ Ottawa, Kansas (Pop. 12.625) is the county seat of Franklin County (Pop. 26.000 including Ottawa) and sits at the intersection of US HWY 59 and I-35 about 50 miles to the southwest of downtown Kansas City and about 25 miles south of I-70 at Lawrence.

Fifty years ago I drove past this plant at the north edge of Ottawa, next to the HWY 59 overpass over the railroad?ÿ many times.?ÿ There would be 200 or more of those units parked all around and I never asked anyone what they were.?ÿ It was just some manufacturing plant.?ÿ Until seeing this video, I had no idea of their dominance in that field.

The pictures of the flooding of downtown Ottawa in 1951 are impressive as the Marais Des Cygnes (Marsh of the Swans) River runs right through the heart of the city.?ÿ Most of eastern Kansas was hit by major floods that Summer, not just the Marais Des Cygnes watershed, which runs into Missouri, headed for St. Louis.?ÿ The?ÿ Neosho, Verdigris and Fall Rivers all experienced massive flooding and they all head into Oklahoma to the Arkansas River.
