Nebraska high point to low point is about 4580 feet in 463 miles of separation.
This article says that claim confuses tolerance on diameter versus surface smoothness. It claims the earth model in that size would be more like 320 grit sandpaper.
If you scaled the earth ???? down to beach ball size; could you pick it up by it's Everest?
