Done. We canceled cable & now we are down to just $40 for Internet. Of course we still have the cell phones.?ÿ
Now the next thing on the list is to get the business line switched over to Google Voice and we will not have a land line bill.
Glad you figured that out.
To cut the other cord, tie off two points two inches apart and cut between the tie off spots. The cutting device should be as clean as possible in extenuating circumstances and it doesn't have to be cut immediately unless the placenta refuses to exit.
I haven't owned a TV for 15 years.?ÿ I've owned a computer for 25 though and after 10 years of having both I simply realized TVs/cable were doomed tech compared to the internet and I switched to using my PC for everything.?ÿ "Smart TVs" are just the latest attempt to keep the doomed tech alive, imo.
I don't watch many TV shows or movies anyway but when it comes to those things there's nothing I can't find on the internet, so to me programming is just another thing a computer does better.?ÿ I did realize I kinda missed watching a live NFL game occasionally so a couple years ago I picked up a TV tuner card and antenna for my computer.?ÿ Since most people already have a computer and internet I think this is probably the best way to go about cutting the cord.
The downsides to my current setup are 1.) the screen size (dual 27"s) obviously, and 2.) when visitors come over I actually have to entertain them.
The screen size doesn't bug me since I have a nice setup and the best seat in the house, but for a family this would probably be a serious problem.?ÿ I do want to get a huge OLED TV eventually just for the bigger screen to watch movies on and also to entertain guests who are staying at my place for a few days, but I'll still never pay a subscription for programming again.
We cut the cord qa few months back.?ÿ We went form $110 Cable bill and $45 for internet to $50 for internet and $25 for Direct TV Now with a ROKU for our streaming device.?ÿ We have a 100 mb connection and have very little problem with buffering.?ÿ We are AMAZON Prime customers so we get lots of free streaming there.?ÿ Direct TV Now has a free 30 day trial so you can try it out for free, and can cancled anytime without cost.
Without ESPN on cable, satellite or streaming you wont' be able to watch Alabama beat the dogs Monday night!
