This is a connection or procedure issue, i think, having trouble finding the procedure to connect with the adl within the epoch 50, via adlconf software, to my pc, maybe I can do the rest from there..

I have performed this procedure about 3-4 years ago and am familiar with the need for latest version of adlconf and the need for a dealers usb thing to mess with the tx or channels, My PC has windows 10 and to my knowledge i have successfully installed all necessary software, mentioned above, including sentinel driver, winflash and the latest fw for adl, to be used with the epoch 50. Side note, I have in the last few days successfully updated the firmware for the receiver, within the epoch 50 using winflash, with no problems, which I must use a usb to serial converter. I must not be setting the epoch up correctly to connect with the pc software as it has never found it yet, i remember i had same problem 4 years ago, but apparently stumbled upon it by accident and have no idea how to do it again, I have tried placing it in bootloader mode and the gnss-pc mode, but must be missing some process somewhere, I have checked the com ports and know my epoch is 38400 which i made the same on pc, some of the other stuff i have no idea what it means, but was choosing the correct port that my usb to serial converter is on.

I cannot find this exact procedure anywhere in the literature or online, other than with a adl radio by itself, not within a receiver
this is a very frustrating process, unless a person knows how to do it, The unit is perfectly functional and I use it every day, I live in an area where there is not a dealer anywhere close and do not want to send the unit off

I can't help you much but I noticed in another thread that you are using an Epoch 25 for a base with an Epoch 50 for a rover.
I haven't heard much about them for a long time. I currently use an Epoch 25 base and an epoch 25 Rover. I had to have the rovers batteries redone a couple of years ago and it is still working good.

Thanks for the response, I usually got about 2 years service from a new battery, wonderful equipment just poor battery design. most likely why they were not on the market very long, plus now the epoch 25 is limited on satellites compared to the 50, but you can only use what the 25 is using, when I get in to an autonomous situation with the 50, i notice up to and sometimes over 20 satellites available, with 50, can only imagine how much better it would be with an epoch 50 base, I did have to manipuate the radio scenario to get it to work, of course that was after the purchase and i was already at the house, but hard to turn down 4 years to turn in 25 for a 50 plus 4k, amazing, wish i had traded both rovers back then

thanks for the response, I think it may help, but i am trying to read between the lines so to speak, although it does not directly address my question, it may be telling me that i should not have upgraded my unit to 4.7, since I do not have survey pro 5.1 or higher, which i do not, that may explain my inability to function with a lower tradio baud rate than 38400 that i changed within survey pro for the epoch 50, of course changing on the pdl also, to 19200, but they dont talk together if i do that, I presumed i needed to change the baud rate within adlconf, which is what brought me to the current issue that i am having, but that may not really be my issue at all, even though i really cannot get my epoch 50 radio to communicate through adlconf to my pc, which I have done successfully several years ago, when i had to program my radios myself, but that was using windows 7 not 10, even at that point it was hit and miss to get it to connect to pc, i have never had any issue connecting my units through winflash, at all. I am sure my problem is one of those ohhhh okkkkay type things that I am just missing the entire picture or one key stroke who knows, still very frustrating to try to do that, since there are so many different factors that could affect the connection, but nothing is spelled out that i can find on how to connect through the epoch 50 to the adl
