I recall a Christmas break for school about 50 years ago that involved a plow Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday and Friday and Saturday and Sunday and another Monday and another Tuesday.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

In honor of "Plough Day" every client of mine with a dangling project (clients that have been noticeably absent since Dec. 15) has called this morning with a fire under their butt. I guess they want me to decorate and drag the community double shovel all over hell's half acre.

One client in particular gets put on the bottom of the pile. I guess he forgot about telling me he was spending the holidays at his condo in Aspen.

No sympathy there...nosiree...

My favorites are the ones who call up with a request for me to perform a miracle over the weekend and let slip that they're either still out of town or headed out of town....those cost more than the average miracle if I decide to help them.

Interesting site.

"Our ancestors may not have been rich, but they had an abundance of leisure. When capitalism raised their incomes, it also took away their time. Indeed, there is good reason to believe that working hours in the mid-nineteenth century constitute the most prodigious work effort in the entire history of humankind."

Had our ancestors had an abundance of wealth would abundance of leisure be different? 😉
