Sorry Richard but you need to wait 2 years.
I do remember it. 1968. I was in a attic room that was rented by a friend in an off campus rooming house. I had a room on the second floor.
I was in my freshmen year and was playing poker with friends while the game was on. It was an old b/w tv.
I should have been studying.

Heard about it on the radio this morning, just probably misheard the year.

So "never mind"

Never was a Jet fan but I was sympathetic to them somewhat.
They use to give out Jet merchandise for free when I was a kid at local Hess gas stations. Sweatshirts, Tees and even free preseason tickets. When I was 13, I really liked my freebie Jets sweatshirt.
Later, I never was impressed by the Broadway Joe stuff.
Jets had a VG running game and kicker that were in the shadows by the Namath mystique/celebrity.
I was more of a Raider rooter in The AFL.
but the Jets did beat the Raiders in the AFL championship and beat the Colts in the Super Bowl a month or so after the Heidi game.
An aging and injured Unitas had his worst season in 1968.

I don't really remember the Heidi game, just wasn't into football much at the time. This also may be in the time frame that we made a family road trip from Upstate New York to Chula Vista, CA and back. I do remember on the way back I think travelling up the East Coast, listening to the Super Bowl on the radio with my brothers rooting for the Jets.
