It just ocurred to me my Granny is a great-great Granny.
I have known some of my great grandparents. Never a double great.
I hope my brother's daughter takes her young'ns to see Granny.
Hopefully some day they may appreciate it.
Their Grandad is my brother 2 years my younger.
Our Dad is now their great Grandad.
What does that make me? A grand uncle?
BTW: Dad is doing awesome after his double knee replacements.
Great Uncle is the usual term for your relationship to your sibling's grand children. But they are called Grand Nieces and Nephews. I have 4 or 5.
There Are No Grand Uncles or Grand Nephews, etc.
They jump to Great, by passing Grand.
So a grandfather's brother is a great uncle to his grand cheldren. Ad one more generation and it is great grand father and great great uncle.
Confusing to say the least. When I become the English language Czar I promise to change it.
