You can read about this restaurant in Barbara Kingsolver's book "Animal Vegetable Miracle". I highly recommend the book if you are interested in eating locally grown food or in sustainable agriculture.

My wife's aunt and uncle live about 15 miles from there. Time for a visit? 😉

Thanks. I am interested, as we all should be in this day and age, in my opinion.

Vermont is full of similar, good little restaurants like the one in the picture. Vermont is a great State to live in or visit.

Hey Tom, that's where I read about it a while back. Interesting book isn't it?

Don

Yes I really liked the book. I wish she would follow up on it, as a well know author people may pay more attention to her than to unknow proponents talking about the same subject.

If you read about locally grown foods much it is surprising how difficult it is to raise and sell local beef or poultry. The rules on slaughtering handling and selling animal products are so stringent that is discourgaes farmers from raising livestock for local consumption. The state of VT just sold their traveling poultry slaughtering facility. I guess it didn't get used enough to make it pay for it's upkeep.
