I had an odd 'cat' experience two evenings ago.?ÿ Two toms (verified) were squaring off with each other under the street light.?ÿ The corner of my fence is within 10 yards of where the two cats were growling and hissing at one another and my 4 dogs were all at that corner and raising holy hell.?ÿ
To put a stop to it all I went out the front door and approached the street where the cats were at with a broom in my hand.?ÿ I got about 20' from them and started stomping, waving my arms and growling at them to "git".?ÿ One of the cats took the hint and split.?ÿ The other turned to face me (which is odd in itself) I took one step closer and the cat charged me!
One swift swing from the broom and he changed his mind and stopped.?ÿ I then took the opportunity to charge at him with the broom.?ÿ I expected that to get him to run off.?ÿ It didn't.?ÿ He was crouched with his ears back and it appeared as though he was waiting for his chance to lunge back.?ÿ I got within about 10' of him, hurled the broom and nailed him.?ÿ Only then did he take off down the street.
I'm definitely no expert on feline behavior, but I've never seen a cat act in that manner.?ÿ I Don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had the broom.?ÿ That big ol' tom could've chewed me to pieces.?ÿ
