Our trusty old Nikon Coolpix L18 family digital camera seems to have given up the ghost, at least for our novice and amateur uses.
SWMBO wants to just take it to the recycling place with our old TV (which we have to take $7 along as well in order to recycle).
But I wonder if there is some electronic aficionado out there who thinks they can revive it? If so, send me an e-mail with your snail mail address & I will ship her to you for your future enjoyment. It will do my heart good to think she will get more life and use out of her rather than just rotting somewhere on an electronic pile.
Well, I don't want or need it, but I can tell you how to get a good deal one one. Google 2013 or 2012 editors choice on pocket cameras", and buy one used on ebay. I paid $ 75 bucks for a really good one, Cannon, that I like. Cameras have come a long way.
Happy Thanksgiving "Boy from Indiana", and to your family as well!

I have one and it’s great, plus if the dog or neighbors kid eats it, it’s cheap enough to replace. B-)
I had a Nikon cool pix that the optical zoom mechanism stopped moving in and out.
Thought I could fix that. Was luck to get it all put back together and still no zoom.
Found out there is a place to send them for repair while in warranty. After that is out, they don't care what you do with them.
Since then, I got cameras that don't have moving parts and have had no problems.
My phone has a 16mp camera.
In 2010 I sent my Canon Elph to Precision Camera in Enfield Ct to fix the cracked screen on the back of the camera. While my cell phone gets more use these days, it is still working fine.
I just checked and they also repair Nikon. It may be worth your while to contact them.
Good luck.
