But I did manage to spend a long weekend in the eastern part of the state.
Tired but well worth it.....

I have been all over the NW including E OR and the only river I can think of that big above the delta is the Deschutes. Downstream of Maupin I'd say.

Grande Ronde River.

Put in at Minam, about 30ish miles from Elgin. Float 8 miles on the Wallowa River then hit the confluence with the GR, then another 30ish to the take out. About 5-6 miles above Troy.

Only one real rapid. My sister and her husband just bought a raft and this was their first overnight trip. IMO, one of the best multi-day floats for a first timer.

Several years ago my wife and I took the tourist train ride from Elgin along the Grand Rhonde then up the Wallowa to Minam. It was a pleasant ride. We then went on to Joeseph and Wallowa Lake for week.
