Alright who's it gonna be McGregor or Mayweather?
And what are the rules? Is it a boxing match or MMA? If it is a MMA rules fight the odds are with McGreggor. If it is a boxing match I tend to think it favors Mayweather however he is a lot older than McGreggor.
Boxing rules, twelve rounds, 10oz gloves.
A lot of fans don't like his style, but Mayweather is probably one of the top five defensive boxers of all time. He's probably going to dance around while McGreggor wears himself out then play with him like a cat playing with a mouse; but he also still has wicked counterpunch speed, he's going to rack up contact during McGreggor's offensive flourishes as well. Without MMA rules I don't see how it ends well for the Irishman.
I tend to pull for the underdog and kinda hope that McGregor wins but if it is boxing rules then the odds are heavily in Mayweathers favor, but what do I know, maybe the Irishman gets a few good licks in but I have always thought that a well disciplined boxer can beat the very best MMA guy if it boxing rules.
In the clearing stands a boxer,
And a fighter by his trade
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that laid him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame,
"I am leaving, I am leaving"
But the fighter still remains, mmm mmm

I remember when Ali did this; wasn't much to watch. http://www.newsweek.com/muhammad-ali-antonio-inoki-mixed-martial-arts-ufc-japan-mma-boxing-wrestling-474502
Supposedly McGreggor was a boxer before he got into MMA, but I don't give him much of a chance. You're talking about a guy (Mayweather) who has never been beaten by another professional boxer, let alone an MMA guy moonlighting as one.
From the most recent promo's...I'd say more like WWF
It needs to be a home and home series. First the boxing match, then the MMA match.
