Welcome. There's a lot of learning available here just by following the threads.

But to understand much of the discussion you need some background.?ÿ Perhaps the best background source would be a slightly older than current copy (cheap) of the Wolf & Ghilani text Elementary Surveying. Then questions here as they arise.

What did you buy?

Sweet. ?ÿWelcome!

Perfect timing, there is a guy goes by St L Surveyor or something that will probably want to partner up with you (I say this tongue in cheek of course, but who knows?).?ÿ

Welcome aboard, anyway!

Ok. Tell us a detailed description of what you bought. There is a wide range attached to ƒ??surveying equipment ƒ??

back in Egypt, they would re stake the lines, after the Nile river receded. Apparently, this was a yearly activity. So, did you buy some rope? (Just kidding) Or early America was surveyed with a ƒ??Rittenhouseƒ? constructed compass. If you have one, they are quite desirable. We all love the old equipment. At least, I think we all do. Post pics. Tell stories. All equipment has a story to tell.?ÿ
welcome to the forum.?ÿ

Thanks for the welcome!?ÿ I bought (6) Carlson Supervisor tablets.?ÿ Turns out that these do not have any software on them, which may have made this purchase a mistake.?ÿ I'm hoping someone can help me understand the value of these and if people buy these without software on them?

@notaclue

Probably contacting Carlson (carlsonsw.com), or a Carlson dealer like U.S. Survey Supply, is going to be your best bet. I'm not sure why they would have no software on them. It may be that there is something on them in firmware waiting to be unlocked.?ÿ
