Spectra Focus 30 robotic total station.
Crew was working in industrial neighborhood, very open (low threat, we thought).
Robot was stolen from crew while they were setting up their backsight.?ÿ Thief left the tripod set up over the occupation point, but took the instrument off the set-up and took the case.?ÿ Serial number on instrument 87000067.

Was the instrument locked to a stationary object, or even to the tripod??ÿ I'm not aware of any robot thefts in which the gun was locked down.
Set up on tripod, operator had issue w/backsight causing him to turn his back.?ÿ Police figure he was being watched.
