Do you capture point cloud data? Are you providing clients animations of their datasets? How do you market your flagship datasets?

NUBIGON Inc. might be worth exploring if you aren't already familiar with it...

We do not provide animations; however, we will often upload smaller sites/structures as an FBX to the Autodesk Viewer as it is free for 1 month and then self-deletes:

https://viewer.autodesk.com/

More often than not, our surveyed surface gets brought into Revit or Civil3D and they will use it to present the project on Autodesk Viewer to the client or municipality.

If you are not scanning, you can also use it to present a "walkable" surface and it will also display the cogo point blocks. I have not bothered to explore whether 3d blocks are possible (ie. when I have presented one of our "meat and potato" total station topo's, the tree symbols came in but they were flat).

Nubigon seems like a much better option overall, albeit more money.

Long time user here. Nubigon is a good option for pointcloud rendering, but the format conversion is very messy. It creates so many small files, so if you have a big dataset, you need extra storage and time. Autodesk Viewer or Navisworks is more feasible if you just need a viewer. You can also import 3D models and drawings in several different formats.

You're not wrong. I do wish the import process was a bit more streamlined myself.

Im also a huge fan of Autodesk Viewer. Being able to send a web link to field crews building something with the design model in it that they can open on their phone is such a help when trying to communicate effectively while do construction layout.
