Hello to all

I decided it was time to sign up here since I am currently a senior student at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and will be graduating in the Spring of 2017 with a B.S In GIS/Geomatics! I currently work for a small engineering firm here in Corpus Christi as a survey tech and love my job and my chosen profession.

I really want to learn as much as I can and to apply it in my career, that's why I'm here.

I'm here for the free beer that people fax to me.;);););););)

Welcome DeereGreen16. You will find this to be the best resource you have ever discovered. Someone on here can answer practically any question you have, so long as it's surveying related. Don't ask us why beautiful women marry surveyors. We don't know.................they just do.

You can even get answers to non-surveying questions, too. But, the best answers all start with............."It depends".

Welcome
I'm Nate.
Here is my little list of advice:
Always investigate.
Never assume... Except in the beginning... Then it's nearly all assumptions. Don't leave lingering assumptions.
We are surveyors. We measure things.
Don't be afraid to dig. (Unless there are "call before you dig" signs.)
Carry extra rebar, and flagging.
For some clients, MORE flagging, means a good survey.
And, do inventory, before you pack up to go home!
And, pizza is always good, even cold, the next day!
I hope you have a great career surveying.
Nate

Corpus Christi is the southern terminus of US 59. If you'll get on 59 and head for Canada I'll meet you at the midway point about a mile from my house.
