Hi guys,
Have joined the community on a recommendation from a fellow surveyor in Texas. Im a Mine/Engineering Surveyor with 8+ years experience in hardrock mining and approximately 1 year experience in cadastral/ civil land surveying. Essentially Im looking for employment in the US, mainly for career advancement and diversification opportunities. Any help or a friendly finger point in the right direction would be most appreciated! I have also spent the last 2 years setting up and developing comsumer grade UAV's to conduct survey grade photogrammetry. The latest project is trying to build a LiDAR system from the ground up. The system will be survey grade, extremely affordable and deployable on medium sized UAV's. The system is 90% complete.
Looking forward to any advise from forum members.
Regards
Blake.
Welcome to the bar, Blake.
Hola senior. Sounds like you have some interesting things going on, look forward to hearing more from ya!
Thanks guys!
Welcome to the greatest resource for survey info in the world. Add as much as you take. We need fresh input. A few of us are beginning to get a bit musty around the edges.
G'day Blake from Tassie
I worked on a recent job with a young bloke who'd built (building) his own system.
I did ground work he did the rest.
Pretty impressive and photography was excellent.
A very interesting aspect of surveying.

Love the Tassie quote mate! Pity im not from that lovely part of Aus! The hardest part of the work we have been doing is getting the ground resolution right.... we managed 50mm vertical variation from our UAV compared to a traditional survey. Thats what people want! Thanks for the hello!

I'll keep my ears open; things are booming in this part of the country. Have you got the work visa thing sorted out?
Yea Western Aus is known for its good surf and nice beaches!! Would be awesome of you could keep an ear out for me. Im currently about to fly back to work and ill be able to do some more digging on the E3 work visa. I was under the impression that you needed to have some work teed up before proceeding. Thanks again, very much appreciated!
