Where do I start! I can tell you the data logger wont work cause I am standing to close to the damn thing, they never work right if I am too close. Number B, sounds like you are doing more than aspiring, you are giving it a good go, as well as you can. I am of the school of thought that an RPLS should be monitoring your work, and giving you advice, and pointing anyone who wants to further their career in the right directions, but I am unfortunately overwhelmed in my opinion of that. Too many RPLS are stuck to their desk these days, and many did not receive proper mentoring themselves. As A Harris says, the rules in TX state you should have 2 years reasonable charge in TX under an RPLS's supervision before you sit the exam, but there is quite a difference of opinion of what the reasonable charge and supervision means. There is tons of info on here. Look up the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors, they are about to host a convention, and enjoy the surveying
