time zone question

I have the time zone set in my profile to the Pacific zone, but when viewing posts through community forums overview or looking directly at a post, the times appear to be in GMT or a similar zone. Maybe. Anyway, about 6-8 hours ahead of my time zone. Is there any way to see the times of posts relative to my time zone or to mark them as GMT or something?

EDIT: Recent Posts page does show relative times (2 minutes ago, etc.).
