How do I search for existing threads for a particular topic on this site without looking at every page as there is no search box?
Search box is in the upper right corner of the page just below the icons for facebook, twitter, etc.

Thanks for that. New to the site and thought the box you referred to was unconnected with the site and was more to do with social network sites.

Glad I could help. Welcome to the site, lots of good people and info around here.
There is another search engine. Go to the bottom area and under the heading called "Information" on the right and there is a option call "Search". Click on Search and that takes you to a place where you can type in your key words and select a category from a pull-down.
Tried that. Worked great. Typed in "beer", got over 4200 hits. Typed in "boundary", got less than 3700 hits. The difference probably comes from the fact that :beer: counts as "beer".
Or just type your search words in the search bar at the top and hit enter. You will be taken to the results which is also the advanced search page. Then you can fine-tune it. 🙂
