Wendell:
Just curious; why can replies be made in the middle of a thread instead of having every subsequent post to a thread going automatically to the end? It just seems a little clumsy seeing new posts to a thread that's been read top to bottom all of a sudden showing up in the middle of it. I like reading in a continuous linear fashion, and since you can quote the particular post/poster you're responding to, the indented format here is seemingly unnecessary. not sayin' I'm just sayin...also, being able to quote more than one post would be cool too - or is there already a way to do that?
It's for conversations within conversations.
I'll admit, it's a bit confusing at first. Now I find myself watching the recent post thingy more.
You could always click the "linear" link near the top right. 🙂
Wendell...is there going to be a
page that shows the most posted....I believe you may have a winner already with Kent and Keith below.
see i told you it was stupid n00b quest. thanx, i think that is what i was looking for - no site i surf on has this indented format, so please forgive for not looking for the linear option :-S

Actually, that is in the works. 🙂

If I wanted to reply to someone in the middle I would reply below their post.
This makes perfect sense to my logical mind.

I guess, but it disrupts the flow of the thread (latest at end), and doesn't always result in a post actually appearing directly following the intended post, depending on where people actually choose to reply. So no, it doesn't make sense to my logical mind, its kind of hodge-podge posting (my opinion only). The linear form works perfectly well for me now that i know that option. I suspect you're used to this format from the old rpls site. My mileage varies apparently

I like it the way its set up. I might want to comment about someones remark in the middle of a thread, and it just makes more sense that my comment shows up right after the others comment, rather than way down the line somewhere. Good site Wendell!
