I just got emails informing me that replies have been made to the recession posting I made, but I can't seem to find that posting or the latest replies anymore.
I know that there had been some political bent eventually input to this posting, but the original reason for this posting was to get an idea where and when the recession began showing itself and where or when the recession might be easing up.
In any case, I'm curious as to what I'm doing wrong or why the posting seems to be gone.
URL's given in my emails of the posting no longer seem to work.
poof !
It was made invisible. Only those with superior taste, and qualifications can see it, or reply to it. Remember the king, who had the invisible clothes? 🙂
Retired69,
I would guess that my post that responded to True Corner's erroneous statement on deficits was good, turned the thread political and was jerked?
Sorry bout that.
Keith
As I explained in email, sometimes the actions of the few have consequences on the rest of us. I'm sorry that your post was removed, but at some point somebody ruined it (no, it wasn't Keith).
I've warned people repeatedly that doing that to an otherwise good posting is something that they have to take responsibility for -- P&R has been a thorn in my side and until somebody wants to pay me a fair wage to wade through each and every post, each and every day (even holidays), regardless of category, I have to expedite the process by simply wiping away anything that starts taking a turn for the worse. I simply cannot feed my family with the amount of time it would take to monitor everything that goes on here. It's hard enough as it is.
I honestly don't think people realize how much work it is. Even the tiniest little things that you may not even think of. For instance, this thread; you posted it in the General Non-Surveying category and while that might be partially accurate, the most appropriate place for it would be the Site Issues category. So I moved it. It's not something bad, it's just a fact of life and one of the things that comes with the territory. Now think how many times that happens throughout the course of a day. Now consider that that is only one tiny fraction of the "little things" that go on around here. Now take it even further to the larger things that take place... you can see how it would start to snowball into a much larger job from which you NEVER get a day off, not even for holidays or anything else.
