I like Beer Leg. And I don't want to log in to another site.
Wendell, KEEP Beer Leg alive. Put a little explanation of exactly what a beer leg is below the logo or somewhere. For instance say something like; 'Beer Leg', have you seen one today? Beer Leg, definition, land surveying, noun,....then have a competition for writing the most humorous definition of what it is. What da ya say?

If Wendell decides to change it, I have no problem with whatever he decides, but I like Beerleg.com, for the reasons you listed. This is an informal place to unwind with like minded folks (is likeminded surveyor an oxymoron?? Maybe a little??), a cyber cracker barrel of sorts.
RPLS.com was one thing, this is something else. I can fully see where marketing would be affected from Wendell's standpoint and if anything contributes to this site paying it's way towards sustainability a name change is pretty much insignificant to the content, and better yet, the company.

Wendell is tall. (6'3) It's HARD to find 2XT for him!! So I usually buy him 2x-4x, depending on the material. Then I see how it "fits" him and then, if necessary, shrink it down to size.

It is also YOUR parlor too! This place belongs to all of you. We just do the upkeep and house cleaning around here so things don't get too dirty & dusty.
I feel very honored and privileged to be able to talk to you guys and help out any way I can and have the utmost respect for ALL of you because I KNOW how hard you guys work to be what you are. I have spent the last 18+ years listening and observing one in particular.
I personally think MY surveyor guy is the best, though, but I am just prejudiced--I'm married to him. :love:

Alright, so I looked at the shirts. I'm a beer leg fan all the way.
That other shirt uhm..., Noodles could you have Wendell revise that a bit. I don't mean to sound critical but it seems kinda gaay to me. At least have a pony tail dangling out of one of the helmets. (lame attempt at sarcastic humor here)
But seriously, incompetence will always eventually shine through the best of disguises, but competence is hard to hide for long even behind a logo tee shirt. I could make an allusion to a couple of web sites right now but I'll refrain.
Not that there's anything wrong with dressing appropriately for the occasion.
It's enough for you to know Pilgrim, I have a suit and I'm not afraid to use it.

I kinda like that idea...then it could be a "girl" surveyor. (Cause of the ponytail.) :good: If he wants to get REAL technical he could add some boobs to it too. 😉

It's 91.8° outside right now. That's extreme heat to us but probably much cooler for you. Hey just think it could be worse, we could all still be in Arizona where it was a balmy 116º. :-O
We're 42 miles from Lincoln City. Every time we go there Wendell brings you up! Or if we go to Hillsboro, Roseburg, talk about Tucson, etc...
We're doing good! Had a few ups and downs but its par for the coarse. Wendell has been working his ass off on this site. It is nice to finally see his hard work pay off with his fellow peers here acknowledging his work, you included. =)

While I am NOT generally opposed to the website name of www.beerleg.com, I think that it should have a more searchable secondary tag line like "A forum for practicing boundary surveyors" or something of the like.
I will probably purchase a beerleg T-shirt, but you won't see me working in it. It's kinda like those old POB shirts that said "Surveyors measure up" or something like that, it's just not the best of public image... and YES, I have a sense of humor.
I kinda like the newly added www.surveyorsconnect.com, I may also order one of those shirts also, and that might be something that I occasionally would wear in the field... occasionally.
I personally think the best name ever for the site would be www.thesurveyforum.com or www.surveyforum.com (seeing how http://www.surveyorsforum.com/ is already taken), but that is just me.
I truly am happy that Wendell took the bull by the horns and made this site, he really has his eyes on the ball... not like some other folks...
And one more little additive, I'm not much of a BIG front logo guy... I'm a little front logo, and a big back logo guy... but hey, that's just me... I'm not a pocket guy either.
Just some musings that don't really matter...

I certainly know that I can't appease everyone, but I'd like to appease as many as possible. I like the small front logo (but on a pocket) and large back logo too. This first batch of shirts is mostly a test. I'm actually thinking, now that I've put 500 variations in the store, that I should narrow that down to just a few. Maybe orange, white and black with a couple of design options.
