Yea, unfortunately it is true and I got a flight out tomorrow down to So Cal. I have been a basketcase all day. :'(
This is gut wrenching and heartbreaking and NO ONE should ever have to go through what I am going through!! :'(
I feel so helpless and am emotionally and physically drained right now. Wendell is going to stay behind for now...but if needed we'll do our best to get him down there as well.
Thanks for all prayers, positive thoughts, etc...etc... I truly appreciate each and every one of them. I'll keep you posted as best as I can. :plumbbob:

Mom Update 12-22-12
First off, thanks for all of your prayers and well wishes. It means the world to me!! :-$
I am finally here in Southern California. We left the house at 9 am and I finally flew into Ontario Airport at about 3:20 PM. Stepdad picked me and the daughter up, took us to the house, I picked up moms car, dropped off luggage at hotel, and went to hospital. After hospital I stopped off at the grocery store and then came back to the hotel.
Mom is doing Ok...not out of the woods, but not in ICU so this is good. She had a hard night last night with the gurgling and breathing stuff. She doesn't even remember me calling or even talking to me. :'(
Her dialysis shunts in her arm have clogs and an aneurysm?? So the docs want to do an angioplasty and something else on her arm...not exactly sure what as I was so tired I didn't write down what the procedure is called. But first they have to get her breathing normally again and get the fluids off of her lungs and possibly her heart. She was having some breathing problems when I left her at 10 PM along with high BP and edema. I asked the nurses to keep a VERY close eye on her and call me if any little thing goes wrong. They moved mom to her own room because in the room she was sharing with another girl, the girl had some kind of infection so they didn't want to put mom at risk. The hospital remodeled 3 weeks ago and so now mom has her own giant brand new never used before room. It's nice!! I'd sleep there if I could. 🙂
She is wiped out, but she is SO thrilled we're here!!! She said I am staying until she's all better or shes dead. (UGH!) I spent the last 5 hours with her just listening to her talk, and her listening to me talk. She says if she goes, she goes. It's reality and she's ready either way. I, on the other hand, am not. :'(
She ate most of her dinner, thank goodness. I stayed with my mom while my stepdad took my daughter out to dinner then they went and got ice cream and then got a coffee for mom. I am physically, mentally, and emotionally exhausted and am going to bed as soon as I brush my choppers.
Anyhow, that is it for now. Will try to update often. It's good therapy for me to get it off my chest. Night Night everyone!! :-$

The strength of Love abounds and is immeasurable and brings comfort and peace.
Sounds like she might have pneumonia. Been there, done that, numerous times.

That she is alert and wants to fight is all in her favor.
Angel, as to the other matter of your concern, that is up to your mom and someone much more powerful. You are there now, and hopefully you can be there then, but then is not certain and can be years off. Right now we pray for the now.
Enjoy your visit and make sure "the daughter" has some time alone with her as you may want some time alone.

Good Evening/Morning, guys!!! Merry Christmas Eve!! :star:
Yea I know I'm writing this a little late but I was at the hospital for several hours and then I went out and spent some much needed TLC fun time playing cards with my best friends. Thank GOD for these people that have loved me for 23 years and counting!!! :-$
Mom is hanging in there...but still having a hard time with the shortness of breath. It is very hard to watch her go through this. She has congestive heart failure and other things going on; she has cysts inside her the size of twin babies and they push up into her ribcage and with the lungs having fluid on them, it makes it even more painful for her than just the fluid alone. The docs can't seem to get the fluids off of her lungs and heart so tomorrow they are going to dialyze her and see if that helps. She's hardly eating...and just plain wiped out. She hasn't had a shower or been strong enough to brush her choppers in 3 days. She took off her oxygen and started to crash so...we now know this is a big no-no!! They put her on breathing treatments and that seemed to help some. Her BP is still in the 160s over /90s. Her arm with her shunts/fistulas is majorly swollen and so after they get this stuff under control, she is looking at surgery for the arm/shunts at her other hospital. So...she will be in the hospital for a while. We're spending Christmas eve eating a hospital feast and Christmas day eating stepdads food brought to us.
Fortunately, there is no fever and no infection. PHEW!!! The room mate she had previously got sicker with some sort of infection and got isolated so it's a good thing they took her outta there when they did.
I've made friends with her roommate and her nurses and doctors. What a difference it makes when you just treat them with kindness and say "Thank you for taking care of my mom." One nurse said that is a rarity; they usually get the "F You!" instead of a thank you. :-O
She has a lung doctor, kidney doctor and reg doctor investigating everything else that they can. The lung doctor told her straight out if she does not quit smoking she is going to die, and soon. I don't know if it made an impact but she and stepdad discussed quitting together so...this is all I want for Christmas!!!!! Well that and her out of the hospital and healthy again.
I just finished eating two of my Italian cream shell cookies and having a nice glass of cold milk and need to brush the choppers and climb into bed. Hopefully I can sleep better tonight than I did last night. Dummy here left the heater on all night in the hotel room and by 8:30 AM I was roasting and sweating!!!
