Found a good condition, working ZSurveyor on eBay for ok $. Does anyone have a power or serial cable?

I have one power cable, but now I could use another.

For opus, a second ZSurveyor is just fine by me. And added to a couple of Z-XIIs with matching geodetic antennas, has its charm.?ÿ

Did you check if it has an updated firmware to correct for the leap second thing? If not then you can't use the Rinex file with OPUS because of the date mismatch.

@jonathan50

its fully tested. And it is week rollover afflicted. No leap second issues, GPS has no leap seconds, only UTC does. (GPS satellite only, and no L2C.) But just as good as the day it was delivered. The firmware is 2002. My other ZSurveyor has earlier firmware. My Z-XIIs older still.?ÿ

Fortunately, week rollover date issue is a relatively minor issue. Iƒ??ve used my Z-XII and ZSurveyor with new receivers and opus without issue. Revising the date in the rinex output is easily addressed.

I only lack the hard to replace accessories: Fischer connector cables.

Revising the date in the rinex output is easily addressed.

It's much easier to override the week number when converting to RINEX, using the -week option, rather than editing the file. More so if the file crosses over UTC midnight so you have two dates to change while being sure to not mess up the column alignment.

What software? TEQC?

I have an excitable that simply corrects the date in rinex. Just one click, but it only works 2.11. It just adds 1024 weeks.?ÿ

Is there firmware for these units available somewhere for download ? Week rollover can be fixed easily, i have done it for z-max and z-xtreme.

Thereƒ??s a thread a couple months ago about week rollover firmware fix for one or two Z models. A programmer hit the source code and fixed it. But the manufacturers havenƒ??t revised any firmware for Z line receivers since 2004 maybe.?ÿ

@larry-scott Right now i have Z-Max, Z-xtreme. I will look at the z-surveyor soon. The firmware is very similar to z-xtreme.

Z-12 is very different dont ask for this 🙂

The fix is very simple. Because GPS already had rollover so the "fix" is in place. You just need to change one number (1024 to 2048) and recalculate checksum.

I have the firmware flash files: ZC00 and ZB00 and the universal program loader.

I have two ZSurveyors, one with ZB00 and one with ZC00. And Ashtech tech doc says ZC00 is compatible with both ?ÿZSurveyor and ZExtreme:

I use my ZSurveyors pretty often. So theyƒ??re not display pieces.

The real benefit is that most software, including OPUS, will read the Ashtech B file without having to go to rinex. I have to export to rinex, then correct the date. So not having to export rinex at all would give the receivers some new life.?ÿ

((I use my Z-XIIs as well. They are rock solid. I use them for timing via the camera/event input, as well as opus and phase differential.))

Power connector size? Is it the size of the Z-12 or the smaller Z-Extreme? I had bought some parts years ago and would have to dig them out.?ÿ

ZXtreme and ZSurveyor cables are compatible. (99% sure) The Fischer connector shell is labeled 102 (shell size). The Z-XII cables are huge by comparison. ?ÿ

The power cable is 3 pin. The serial cables are 7 pin. I have one power cable. With 2 perfectly good ZSurveyors a 2nd power and a serial, cable itƒ??d be a nice setup for what I do with them.?ÿ
