I got the notification yesterday but did not open it until today.
Launched just a few weeks ago the latest GPS IIF is now in use.
To have only 31 active satellites SVN39/PRN09 launched in 1993 was turned off. Most receivers can handle 32 active GPS but certain models gag on 32, so the Air Force keeps the total at 31.
PRN 09 was in Plane/Slot A5 with PRN 06 in A6. Last week 30 was flying along side PRN 08(A3) two hours behind PRN 07(A4) and PRN 09 1 hour behind. I expect some slot shuffling and possible position renumbering over time. Today my Planner with the old almanac shows 30 falling behind 08 heading for 09's position.
I just might go out and gather a new almanac tonight. Need a shower first, though.
