Not Far back on the board there was a discussion of calibration of equipment used in EDMI measurement, Calibration of Temperature probes (thermometers in this case) came up.
One poster knew some buzzwords but that was all. I just laughed at his post and said nothing. Yesterday I was looking at Fluke internet site (Flukecal.com)
for some information on other stuff they have and came across some very interesting information that I did not know they had.
They sell a device that one can establish the Triple Point of Water, which is 0.01 Deg. C on the temperature scale.
Go to :
1. Flukecal.com
2. Click on (under North America) [English]
3. In the search box in the upper right hand corner type in 5901
4. click on the 1st hit Triple point of Water Cells.
5. Read the whole page then go back to the top and just to the right of the picture of their 5901 cells is a video of "How to realize a triple point
of water cell" click on the video
Watch the video--very interesting. The Cell sells for around $1720.00

Love my fluke multi-meter.

Demonstrating the triple point of water is a great physics demonstration!
