I am new to Nevada and subscribed to the above network.?ÿ I have had extreme difficulties connecting.?ÿ I am using a Spectra Precision Epoch 50 receiver and Survey Pro 6.0 software on a Trimble Ranger 3 data collector.?ÿ ?ÿAfter several days of frustration, I subscribed to a daily subscription from Travis at AZGPS which provides coverage in the Mesquite Nevada - Saint George Utah area.?ÿ Connected in 20 seconds.

I would appreciate any trouble shooting advice from surveyors with TURN GPS experience.

For transparency, I am a California PLS going through the comity process to get my ticket in Nevada where I currently live and am working with a NV/UT licensed professional.

Thanks in advance!

Subman

What exactly is your problem?

Spell it out with a detailed step process, and screen shots.?ÿ?ÿ

Connection with a VRS isn't rocket science, but when you're in the area you mentioned,?ÿ cell coverage would be my first suspect. No bars equals no go... data is not automatically accessible.

Next I'm guessing you have NTRIP information to connect that might not be setup correctly.

Share your information and we can provide you solutions.?ÿ We all have suffered by the same technology swords at one time or another.?ÿ

We opened up an office and started doing work in UT not too long ago. Haven't used TURN yet but I've looked into it.

It looks like most of the other Pivot platforms, including the one that we use here in WA, and appears that they have both Trimble proprietary formats as well as RTCM.

As long as controller settings (broadcast format, caster IP/port, login info, etc.) are all in order, it should be as simple as logging in, picking a mountpoint and getting to work. If something's going haywire after all that, I'm with @jitterboogie on the cell reception idea.

And every now and then the RTNs don't work as well as they should, or stations are down, or they're missing a piece of the broadcast, and you're just SOL. You might have just gotten unlucky. They did have contact info on their site, and if they're as good as the folks who run our RTN, they'll probably respond to a request for assistance.
