I'm still scratching my head on the RTN thing. The WiFi screen shows that I've connected and am receiving data, but it shows a distance to the mountpoint of "N/A" (should be about 1.2 km from here at the office). When I go to the initial Collect screen it shows the mountpoint name at bottom center with a cryptic icon (looks kind of like a compass, but in this case it has a white x on a red background in its southeast quadrant) to the left of the mountpoint name. When I hit the Next button, it shows STN (standalone), with error estimates consistent with an autonomous position.
I figure it's a dumb user error thing -- not quite understanding the process -- but I'm kind of stuck until I get this figured out. I have a call into Michael Glutting, but if anyone else sees what I'm doing wrong, please chime in!
I spent a *long* time on the phone with Michael Glutting today trying to connect to CRTN sites. He's familiar with the network, and walked me through lots of different config changes and a few reboots, but by the time I had to sign off in order to get to a meeting I think we were both scratching our heads pretty hard. I could get an Internet connection, I could see the mountpoints, and sometimes I could even get corrections coming in, but it just wouldn't solve the vector.
Yesterday I had contacted UNAVCO about getting access to their sites, and late this afternoon I got email with login credentials. A few minutes ago I successfully connected to P268 -- which CRTN had shown as offline -- and got a fix in my backyard (under dicey skyview conditions) at 12 km.
I still want to get the CRTN figured out, as there's a station (UCD1) just a tad over 1 km from me. But at least I now know that the gadget works!
