I turned everything on in the base and rover in the style.
Fired up the base in my backyard, not the best spot for a base but okay.
Fired up the rover. At first it was pretty slow, not good but after 15 minutes of getting some observations in the open it started working a lot better under my redwood trees, next to tree trunks, etc. ?ÿIt had 22 SVs at the height. At first it was only seeing 10 in the rover. The base had 17 from the start.
It seems like it needs some open sky time to download the ephemeris and find itself. After 15 minutes or so it was able to find a lot more SVs.
Since you asked this question I've downloaded an R8 and an R10 base file with the TCS600. Both took similar times and were downloaded in minutes.?ÿ
Not sure what's up with the R12/TSC5 connection but I'm guessing something must be off.?ÿ
I hate having to pull the receiver into the office for downloads. Much easier to plug in the DC and have the static files loaded on it with the day's work.?ÿ

My habit is to download each file at the end of the session. That way I have all the files in the Controller at the end of the day.
The TSC3 was just a better controller but we can??t use it with the newer receivers.
The TSC5 is okay but it hesitates too. Sometimes doing Topo with the S7 on track it hesitates when populating the numbers after the take a shot button push, not always, just sometimes. Half a second or a second or so but it??s annoying, throws off my rhythm. The TSC3 never did that. Took me a few minutes why it was complaining about trying to store an empty shot until I noticed the hesitation.
Maybe it??s my fault, I updated the Android system.
The Android file system is clunky. I copy the project folder on a USB flash drive, all the dates and times are the minute I do that, not like Windows which is the actual date and time the last time the file was saved. At least the battery life is a lot better than the TSC7.
