... in therms of how quickly it losses initialization:

skroll to the 10:55 first video

?ÿ

I am still looking for RTK receiver for myself... The above videos does not convince me the unit is holding initialization well

I recently tried Reach RS and found it useless for my applications. The Reach RS was doing good in open sky areas but once you approach a tree, a tree line or a building the initialization was instantly gone.

The Multi seems like to have better performance, especially when carried by the tree line on first video, Reach RS would never get one there. From the second video it looks like holding a candle on a wind, trying?ÿ not to loose flame .

I've noticed you on this forum, and on the J forum. You seem smart, and determined to put together a?ÿ

Cheap

Fast

Functional

Good in multi-path environment.

GPS system.

I try to buy cars, based on MPC (Miles Per Cost)

You seem to be doing the same w rtk gps.

As I read, the better MPC numbers, are coming from Javad, Mark Silver's i-gage stuff, but, many other companies are "still in the race". But, we know nearly nothing about them. We saw the Trimble r10/Javad LS, were nearly the same, performance wise, in fall, with sap down. But, the Trimble cost about 2x as much as the Javad.

What about Topcon? And Pentax? And Leica, and the latest offering from Carlson, and others?

We don't know. By the time we all compare, and test them, somebody will change something.

Well, that's what it is.

Keeping current info, is a full time job!

Keep at it. This Race will be ongoing, for a long time. Surveyors are the beneficiaries of all this work/research/progress/technology.

Nate

Hi, I have newer been on J forum, that must be someone else there. This is the only place I participate ( no Facebook, no Tweeter etc regitered on linked in and was there once, do know how to canlcel)

I do not have much in my budget, max 2000$ and I want a good network rover. Reach RS fell off after I tried. May be use used Trimble 5800 ... do not know, maybe Piksi Multi...

p.s. not building my ow receiver anymore, switching back to field.

?ÿWell, sorry I thought it was you.

I notice you are in Ukraine.

Many of us have older gear, that we will never use again.

I have Topcon legacy e's.

I was saving the LegAnt antennas, to use "remote antennas" on my truck, but, I could part with it all, with data collector. I have not used it, since I got my Javad.
